Just a quick note to let everyone know that mom & I are contacting our Judas cousins to try and find out who inherited cousin Stanly Judas's genealogy research. I'm hoping to get at least copies of the work before I go and duplicate all that he did before he passed away.

Hello Suzette
I do hope you can get the Judas Genealogy research that has already been done as I have been doing so much from this end and have been researching the films of Oborniki and ours was definitely the only Judas family there apparently having settled in Preussen after leaving (or driven out in a sense) from the Franconian region or Lower Gemany/Austrian area. This is all documented in History that 30,000 Evangelische/Lutherans who would not change to Catholic were resettled in other areas of Europe. Another place they were accepted was France and I know you have a Judas descendant from France in contact with you.
Your family and mine are definitely related and possibly also the French "connection" excuse the pun.
There was (so far who I have found) Martin, Johann (your ancestor) and Ludwig (my ancestor) and possibly an Anna Amalie as well but I have 280 documents of family all in german with not much on Judas family as they were the only family there but because there is many years missing there are spaces in their family events.
It is all so interesting but oh so time consuming.
My family spoke Low German and they went to Preussen from Lower Germany. There are many Judas families today in the Franconian area and I have been in contact with one. The pieces do all fit in a sense.
All the best from Australia.

Cousin Janet was generous and sent me copies of the research notes Stanley had compiled. Unfortunately, Stanley was no further back in the tree than me. I've just finished printing out a request for death certificate form for the state of Wisconsin. Fingers crossed that they have a record to match. There's a footnote on the form that because I'm requesting an uncertified copy, the request could take up to 6 months to complete.
